4-year-old girl found in pool last week diesBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published April 10, 2003 A 4-year-old Orlando girl found floating in a backyard pool in New Port Richey on April 2 died on Tuesday afternoon. Courtney Campbell was flown to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg after she was found at 5539 Senate Lane. Police said Courtney and her 3-year-old brother, Trevor, were visiting family in New Port Richey. Last Wednesday, the children went to see a family friend, Jessica Cothran, on Senate Lane. Trevor noticed that his sister was missing. Within minutes, Cothran found her in the pool. Paramedics and doctors got Courtney's heart beating again. But she had been listed in critical condition, which generally means that vital signs are unstable. Capt. Darryl Garman said he does not expect charges will be filed. The girl's family will have services this weekend in Orlando. Deputies seek mugger who attacked 80-year-old NEW PORT RICHEY -- Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who dragged an elderly woman across a parking lot Monday while stealing her purse. Deputies said an 80-year-old woman was walking toward Bealls Outlet on State Road 54 at about 2 p.m. when a man grabbed her purse off her right shoulder. The woman told deputies that she held on to the strap and the man dragged her. She called for help and the purse strap broke. She said the man jumped into a red car and drove away. Witnesses described the man as white, 18 to 20 years old, about 5 feet 7 with a thin build and dark brown hair, wearing a white T-shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call 847-5878. Hudson man arrested in Circle K robbery HUDSON -- Sheriff's deputies arrested a 23-year-old man Monday in connection with an armed robbery in March. Dane Aaron Chisholm, of 9533 Chris St., Hudson, is facing charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault. Deputies said Chisholm wore a mask and entered a Circle K on Hudson Avenue at 3:23 a.m. on March 13. Chisholm pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, deputies said. He cocked the weapon a couple of times, and the clerk handed over $62, an arrest report states. Chisholm bragged to two friends about robbing the store, deputies said. Chisholm admitted to the robbery and expressed remorse, said Detective Sharon Foshey in an arrest report. Chisholm said he robbed the store to support his drug habit, Foshey wrote. Chisholm was held without bail Wednesday at the Land O'Lakes jail.
