Woman's welcome to Florida sparklingBy CHASE SQUIRES, Times Staff Writer© St. Petersburg Times published April 23, 2003 DADE CITY -- Donna Floberg traded one kind of ice for another. Floberg, 61, just moved to the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club community from Green Bay, Wis., to escape the winter, and she welcomed spring last week by winning a $3,200 diamond necklace at Kiefer Village Jewels. "I think it's a good omen," she said as she collected her prize. "I was supposed to come here." Floberg, a Mary Kay senior national sales director, was one of 468 people who tried on a diamond anniversary necklace to register for the drawing at the Kiefer Village Jewels stores in Dade City and Land O'Lakes. Store owner David Hevia said the drawing was held to promote the new designs of Arkansas jewelry designer Richard Glatter. Floberg said she has earned several of the Mary Kay cosmetics company's signature pink Cadillacs in her years with the company, but the diamond necklace was the first thing she had ever won in a drawing.
