An 18-year-old student at Pinellas Technical Education Center was charged with possession of a weapon on school property and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a Pinellas County sheriff's arrest affidavit.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted deputies to the student's backpack, which deputies said contained a marijuana pipe and marijuana residue, as well as a Swiss Army knife. The discovery came during a random drug check Friday while the student was in class, the report states.
The dog, named Buster, scratched and bit the backpack, according to the report, and deputies opened it to find a hemp bag containing a marijuana pipe, a blue metal pipe containing drug residue and a wooden pipe.
The student, Warren Wesley Holder of Palm Harbor, was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $5,300 bail.
