THE PITCHERS

Ryan Rupe

Rupe (4-9, 7.09) made his last start a day earlier than planned after the trade of Albie Lopez, and he gave up four home runs and didn't make it out of the second. He's back on a normal schedule tonight. Rupe is 2-1, 3.24 in three starts against the O's.

Jason Johnson

When the Rays traded Johnson in 1999 he was an erratic 25-year-old who had shown more promise than performance. Today, he leads the AL with a 3.14 ERA and sports a Baltimore-best 9-6 record. He is 2-1 in three starts against the Rays.

YOU DON'T SAY

Does the Baltimore Sun know something we don't know? The Sun ran a rundown on the Rays on Tuesday and reported that, among other moves, they had traded catcher John DiFelice. The way we saw it, they traded Mike DiFelice and hung on to John Flaherty.
