Couple steals games, DVDs from Blockbuster

NEW PORT RICHEY -- A couple accompanied by a toddler walked into the Blockbuster Video store at 7401 State Road 54 on Wednesday and stole more than 40 DVD movies and video games, Pasco sheriff's deputies said.

The store manager told deputies that the man, woman and child walked into the store shortly before 6 p.m. and started to pick several videos off the shelf, then walked out of the store without purchasing anything.

Store employees said they discovered dozens of videos missing from their cases. The Sheriff's Office is investigating.

Deputies investigate robbery, home invasion

NEW PORT RICHEY -- Pasco County sheriff's deputies are investigating a home invasion and robbery on MacArthur Drive early Thursday morning.

According to the victims inside 5352 MacArthur Drive, two men forced open a patio door and a door to the home. Once inside, one man pointed a small, black semiautomatic handgun at the victims and demanded money and jewelry.

Once the victims handed items over, the men ran out of the home and into a white van.

The witnesses were unable to provide detailed descriptions of the robbers; both men wore pantyhose over their heads and faces.
